Unlike other systems of medicine which have been developed in
response to diseases, Ayurveda is that "Knowledge of Life" which
essentially provides guidelines on how to keep good health. Naturally,
it also deals with how to cure diseases. Having been in vogue
from time immemorial, today there is a renewed interest in this
indigenous system of medicine because of its holistic outlook
and use of natural products.

Medical management, based on Ayurvedic Saastra, of the
various eye disorders, like refractive error, uvitis,
corneal disorders, diseases related to vitreous and retina

Ayurvedic lines. There are facilities to admit the patients
so that he can undergo the various classical Ayurvedic
therapies like Tarpana, Shiro

from 7-14 days depending on the intensity of the condition.

traditional ophthalmology is so little practiced that
the medicines required are not available in the market.
Hence a small functional in-house pharmacy has been created
to manufacture medicines of desired quality.
To bring this knowledge within reach of a wider professional
circle by organizing suitable training and extension programs
including publications.
To undertake other such research, training and extension
activities that can further promote the cause of traditional
ophthalmology. |
